The British Royal Family Received a Collection of Canadian and Laotian Stamps

The British royal family's collection of postage stamps is valued at about 100 million pounds sterling. It contains 328 albums.

This year, in April 2023, it has been enriched with stamps from Canada, as well as unique collectibles from the Kingdom of Laos.

Today, Royal Philatelic Collection belongs to King Charles III. This treasury of philately is passed from monarch to monarch.

Note that Queen Elizabeth II received the set of Laos stamps in June 2016 for the first time. The UK ambassador in Laos presented it as a gift on her 90th birthday. Here's one of the Laotian stamps that is presented in this stamp collection.

The Royal Philatelic Collection was started by King George V who was a passionate philatelist and spared no expense on stamps. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II also keened on philately and added 30 albums to the Royal Philatelic Collection during her reign.
