“The sea shall not have them”…New 6 stamps by Jersey Post honor Air Sea Rescue Service

FindYourStampsValue.com is glad to inform that Jersey Post has prepared for issuing great six stamps that honor the activity of one of the most important services ‒ Air Sea Rescue Service with the help of which a great number of people was saved.

RAF Search & Rescue Jersey stamp issue tells us about this organization that is honored worldwide.

In 1940, during The Battle of Britain, the British found themselves unprepared for a battle over the seas surrounding Britain. It was evident that a better equipped and dedicated service was needed for the recovery of airmen who had ditched or parachuted into the water.

The Air Ministry formed the Directorate of Air Sea Rescue to coordinate rescue efforts. Officially founded in February 1941, the Air Sea Rescue Service adopted the motto 'The sea shall not have them'.
