Winnie the Pooh stamps released

Winnie the Pooh has swapped honey for something else sticky - a set of stamps.

The much-loved fictional bear, created by AA Milne for his son Christopher Robin in 1926, features alongside his friends in a new collection from the Royal Mail.

Original illustrations by EH Shepard from the Pooh stories feature in the new collection of 10 special stamps. Pooh is joined by Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Kanga, Roo, Owl and Tigger in the black and white line drawings.

Philip Parker, of the Royal Mail, said: "At nearly 90 years old Winnie-the-Pooh is looking incredibly good for his age, thanks to the imaginative writing of AA Milne and the timeless illustrations of EH Shepard.

"We're delighted that through this wonderful collection we will bring a new adventure for Winnie the Pooh and his friends as they travel on letters to millions of homes across the UK and beyond."
