Winter tales 2 - news stamps from Denmark

Post Danmark has issued four stamps featuring humorous drawings of winter pastimes, i.e. winter swimming, a woman feeding birds, a dog walker and a man fishing through a hole in the ice. The four stamps featuring humorous motifs of Danish winter pursuits were designed by Claus Bigum.

The stamps feature: - The carvel Maria - The frigate Jylland - The armoured ship Tordenskjold- The gunnery ship Niels Iuel- The frigate Iver Huitfeldt The stamps were designed by Michael Jensen and are produced in a combination of intaglio and offset. The engraver was Martin Morck.

Nordic Coastlines on Stamps

The postal services of the Nordic countries are jointly issuing a three-part stamp series entitled Nordic Coastlines. All eight Nordic countries will be issuing stamps and minisheets in this series during 2010, 2012 and 2014. The theme of the first part is "Life by the coast".
