Bear in mind that the non-original Sailboats are produced with a fake number P1111 under the stamps in the coil. It appears in every alternate stamp. Original stamps with sailboats have the number at the bottom. It repeats every thirtieth stamp.
According to some experts, a 100 counterfeit Sailboats coil stamps in a roll have already been purchased on the Internet. Later on, they may have a very high value due to their defect and their price is likely to reach $100-500 or even more after some period of time.
It was also reported that the 24¢ stamps with School Bus coil have also been counterfeited. The fakes are incredibly similar to the originals. Thus, it gets more difficult to detect them through a regular purchase.
There's been a substantial increase in such issues in the US. Thus, the listing of Scott catalog the counterfeits of "forever" stamps as well as some other ones, released since 2007, have ceased. Instead, all counterfeits can be searched in the specific section of another catalog.
