Andorra Post issued two stamps on local cuisine!

The Spanish Andorran postal service produced a special souvenir sheet of two stamps on local cuisine. Andorran cuisine shares a lot of similarities with its Spanish neighbour, Catalonia, as well as a few with France. The cuisine of this region is an example of preservation of the traditional, adapted to high mountains meal, which uses high-quality products, granted by this land. The colorful souvenir sheet launched the new series of philatelic items promoting traditions and national attributes. Let’s take a look at this beautiful issue and at other great stamps on cuisine.

The two dishes are both famous in the area. The first stamp with an orange background, depicts the dish "escudella", which means bowl, and this is suited for the dish, as it a local stew that is mostly made for Christmas. The stew is made with local ingredients, and depending on who you ask, the dish may vary considerably, as every family has added their personal touch to the dish. The second dish, depicted on a light green background, is a local salad made from dandelions, which grow naturally in the mountainous areas of Andorra.
