FindYourStampsValue.com is excited to present these four cute Croatian stamps that are devoted to different breeds of cats: the Himalayan, Maine Coon, Russian Blue and the Birman. The philatelic issue was created by a talented Zagreb designer Nataša Odak. Each cat is depicted on a stamp on an interesting and lovely background with hearts, tiny letters etc. The mission of this issue is to promote the hobby of stamp collecting among children.
So, the first stamp features the Birman cat that is widely recognized with his fascinating bright blue eyes and a specific colour of the coat (from white to light brown). His coat is medium long, and may be longer on his back, thighs, neck and belly. Birman cats are adorable pets. They are friendly, loving, tolerant and well behaved.
The second stamp depicts the Russian Blue that immediately draws our attention with his sparkling, silvery blue coat and brilliant green eyes. The cats of this breed love to sleep in the sun and play with the rays of sunlight. His thick coat is short and easy to groom. The Russian Blue is a gentle cat with a somewhat shy nature around strangers. They are devoted to and affectionate with their loved ones.
The third item features the majestic Maine Coon hailing from Maine, where he was a popular mouser, farm cat and, most likely, ship’s cat, at least as far back as the early 19th century. The climate there is damp and harsh, so unlike other cat breeds, Maine Coons have a heavy water-resistant medium-long fur, with tufted ears, paws and cheeks, reminding of the lynx.
The last stamp features the Himalayan Cat that is one of the most popular breeds in the world. They are a mix between a Persian Cat and a Siamese Cat. The word Himalayan is not connected with the Himalayas, but with the cat’s distinctive look. Himalayans are intelligent and sweet. They like being petted and love to play, and they love receiving attention, but never demand it.
