Four Croatian “Children’s World” stamps show cute cats!

Croatia Post released four new stamps within its Children's World philatelic series. This cute release is devoted to cats. The items show such breeds of cats as the Bengal, Bombay, Egyptian Mau, and Norwegian Forest. The issue was designed by Katarina Lončar, a designer from Zagreb.

The first item shows the Bengal cat that is a relatively new breed of cats that is a cross between a black cat and an Asian leopard. The characteristic feature of these animals are spotted fur and body shape resembles that of the leopard. The second stamp shows the Bombay cat that appeared only seventy years ago. This breed resembles a miniature black panther. It was registered in 1976 and was named after the Indian city of Bombay.

The third item shows the Egyptian Mau that originates from Egypt and is one of the oldest cat breeds in the world. This breed is known for about 3500 years, but it has almost disappeared in the last century. And the fourth stamp is devoted to the Norwegian Forest cat that originated from a wild cat that lived in Scandinavia, especially in Norway. It is one of the most natural breeds on the planet thanks to the fact they have only been bred through natural selection.
