Liechtenstein Post introduced two Europa 2021 “Endangered Species” stamps!

PostEurop conducts a kind of philatelic competition each year, according to the rules of which the member states issue stamps on the common topic. Liechtenstein Post unveiled two Europa 2021 stamps the theme of which is “Endangered Native Wildlife”. The issue is devoted to such animals as noble crayfish and weasel.

The first item depicts the weasel that is the world’s smallest predator. This animal lives in various European countries and eat mostly mice. It has a small body and a short tail. Nowadays this species is endangered because of urban sprawl, traffic, and the loss of land as it is now largely used for agricultural purposes.

The second stamp features the noble crayfish that is the most widespread native freshwater crayfish species in Europe. It lives in lowland streams and still waters. The noble crayfish is threatened by water pollution, much mud, as well as poaching. However, the most dangerous hazard to all native crayfish species is the crayfish plague.
