April 30th, 2018

It is widely known that the NABA national stamp exhibition takes place only every six years. The time has now come again: it will be held from 17 to 20 May 2018 at Centro Esposizioni in Lugano. This event promises to be the focal point of the Swiss philately scene. To mark this exciting exhibition Swiss Post has unveiled a special stamp designed by Fabienne Angehrn.

NABA Lugano is considered to be the biggest and most important event in the calendar for stamp collectors and philatelists. It is estimated that this year the exhibition will attract around 200 exhibitors who will present their collections to a jury of experts as per competition rules. The exhibition, which also commemorates the 175th anniversary of the first issue of Swiss stamps in the Canton of Zurich, will feature the most important Swiss collections that exist today. For any serious philatelist interested in collecting Switzerland, a visit to Lugano is really indispensable.

The item issued by Swiss Post is designed in red and blue colors just like the logo of NABA Lugano 2018. The stamp features a person studying stamp motifs, as well as San Salvatore, the mountain above Lugano, and the iron gates in Parco Ciani, which provide a reminder of bygone times. . The gates and the villa are part of Ciani Park built by the Ciani family in the middle of the 19th century. The city purchased the villa and park in 1912.

FindYourStampsValue.com invites each stamp collector to follow this exciting event and appreciate this special philatelic item issued to mark it!
