Romanian Court of Accounts celebrates its 150th anniversary with a new postal issue
Romfilatelia continues the series of anniversary philatelic projects, dedicated to prestigious institutions in the country, and introduces into circulation the postage stamps issue 150 years since the establishment of the Romanian Court of Accounts, public institution characterized by professionalism, objectivity and dynamism.
At a century and a half since its establishment, the Romanian Court of Accounts appears as a modern and efficient organism that imposes respect and successfully fulfills its role of controlling the management of public finances and of checking the correct use, in terms of performance, of public money.
Joining the festive manifestations celebrating this anniversary, the postage stamps issue dedicated to the Romanian Court of Accounts celebrates, also from a philatelic point of view, a successful institution, whose values, experience and prestige have turned it into one of the fundamental state institutions in today’s Romania.
The anniversary issue of postage stamps 150 years since the establishment of the Romanian Court of Accounts, consisting of three values, exhibits in an original graphic manner representative elements for the history of this prestigious institution, referring to Ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza, under whose rule the Romanian Court of Accounts was established, by the law published in the Official Bulletin on January 24th, 1864.
The postage stamp with the face value of lei 2.40 illustrates the logo of the Romanian Court of Accounts, while the stamp of the souvenir sheet, having the face value of lei 14.50, and that of the series, with the face value of lei 4.50, presents the image of Ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza. The border of the souvenir sheet reproduces the image of the Palace of the High Court of Accounts, inaugurated in May 1899, being another historic landmark which completes the graphic of the issue and the significance of the celebrated event.
The three values are joined by the first day cover, and as page composition were used the sheet of 32 stamps, the sheet of 28 stamps, the minisheet of 8 stamps + 1 label and the perforated souvenir sheet.
Starting with Friday, June 6th, 2014, the postage stamps issue 150 years since the establishment of the Romanian Court of Accounts, is available in all Romfilatelia shops in Bucharest and countrywide.
