FindYourStampsValue.com is glad to let our readers know that USPS has prepared for release a special Peace Rose stamp that celebrates one of the most popular roses of all time. The peace rose revolutionized hybrid tea roses with its unique coloring, hardiness, and disease resistance. The stamp features a detail from a photograph of the rose’s blossom, its creamy yellow petals touched at the edges with pink. The item was designed by Ethel Kessler who used Richard C. Baer`s photograph to creat the stamp.
Peace is probably the most famous and popular roses of all time. This nice plant has beautiful primrose-yellow flowers that fade to blush-pink at the tips. Each of its large, showy double blooms is accompanied by a delightful light fragrance!
“The peace rose revolutionized hybrid tea roses with its unique coloring, hardiness, and disease resistance,” the Postal Service added.
Endorsed by the RHS Award of Garden Merit and public alike - It has been voted World's Favourite Rose too in 1976. This species of roses received such an interesting name in 1945 to commemorate the end of World War II. Later that year Peace roses were given to delegations at the inaugural meeting of the United Nations with a note that read: We hope the Peace rose will influence mens thoughts for everlasting world peace.
'Peace is the finest Hybrid Tea ever raised and it will remain a standard variety forever' - Peter Beales, Rose Expert.
