Stamps released honoring already nonsexist organization

According to info got by FindYourStampsValue.com Australia Post launched Open Gardens Australia stamps as it was revealed that the organization would be closing down.

Open Gardens Australia has been unlocking gates to private gardens for the past 27 years, but falling revenue meant the non-profit organization was no longer viable.

Neil Mitchell, a fan of the concept, spoke with the scheme's chief executive and attempted to find out how much funding it would take to keep it open.

But Liz White's response - or lack thereof - left him wondering if there was any desire from within the organization to keep Open Gardens Australia alive.

In its popular years, the organization opened more than 800 gardens annually but this season only 478 gardens will be unlocked.
