The 100th Anniversary of USA entering WWI marked La Poste. One special commemorative stamp issued by France Post

FindYourStampsValue.com hurries to inform our readers that, La Poste, the French postal service, issued a beautiful stamp, in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the United States of America entering World War I.

The stamp features American foot soldiers and a naval vessel in brown colours, and a plane in blue.

Though the war started several years earlier, America had decided to stay on the sideline, as they believed that the war was a European fight.

Sentiment started to change around 1916, and as Germany initiated an all-out submarine war that hit both foes and ships sailing under neutral flags, the United States reached the limit of their patience.

The US Congress declared war on Germany on April 6 1917, and on Austria-Hungary on December 7, 1917. In 1918 deployment of US troops started happening in large numbers.
